Anaesthesia

In this part, which we have prepared for patients who will be operated in our hospital, there are short but useful information regarding anaesthesia, pre-operational and post-operational processes. We request you read these and to respect the advices in order to be operated t most adequate conditions.

Anaesthesia

  • At hernia operation, general or regional anaesthesia techniques can be used. Which anaesthesia will be applied to which patient is in the common decision of the patient and the anaesthetist.
  • At open operations, all anaesthesia forms can be used. These methods are the general anaesthesia, the local anaesthesia, spinal and epidural anaesthesia.
  • At laparoscopic hernia operations, there is only one anaesthesia choice: general anaesthesia.
  • General anaesthesia is the condition at which the patient is kept asleep during the operation.
  • Local anaesthesia is the easiest anaesthesia form, applied by an injection to the operation region. It is commonly used for inginual hernias and small abdominal hernias.
  • Epidural and spinal anaesthesia is applied through the waist gaps of the patient with a thin injector. The patient is conscious during the operation but downward from the waist no senses can feel anything and he will not experience any pain.
